Buddha Purnima


















Buddha Purnima is the most sacred festivals of Buddhist.Lord Buddha is the founder of Buddhism. This day is the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. It falls on the full moon of the fourth lunar month (month of Vaisakh) i.e. April or May.This is the same day he gained enlightenment and attained Nirvana when he died .

In this festival Kheer is offered as prasadam.














Ingredients

Milk -1 liter
Rice 1 cup
Sugar 1 cup
Almonds(Blanched)
Raisin
Cardamom Powder 1/2 teaspoon

Method

Soak rice for 1 hour.

Reduce milk by boiling to 3/4 quantity.Add rice & sugar and cook till it is done.

Sprinkle the almonds,raisins and cardamom powder.

Glucose Biscuit crushed - 1 cup
Coco powder and drinking chocolate - Each 1/2 cup
Condensed milk - 1/2 cup
Butter - 30gms
Brown Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Almond essence- 3 drops
Cashew nuts - 1 tablespoon
Raisins - 1 tablespoon

In the small mixer jar , whisk butter first , followed by biscuits.Pour contents in a large mixing bowl and mix all ingredients together expect cashews and Raisins.

Process all together in a food processor or the small mixer in parts.Again empty the contents of the mixer in the mixing bowl and fold in the cashews and raisins.

Take any square tray and butter it.Press evenly and firmly all the chocolate mixture.Mark into squares and freeze for 15 minutes.

Chocolates are ready to serve!
